Old Smithy

The Old Smithy Recording Studio has been producing hit music for over 30 years. One of the largest recording studios in the West Midlands with its very spacious, classically designed, 730 sq ft live room, it uses state of the art technology and professional, qualified engineers, making it suitable for any type of recording, from big bands to small orchestras, from choirs to soloists, as well as for recordings using backing tracks.

The control room features Quested farfield speakers and NS-10 nearfield monitoring with a Focusrite Pro-Tools HD3 front end recording console. The Old Smithy Recording Studio supports both analogue and digital recording to suit any taste. In the control room, Pro-Tools HD3 runs over £70,000 worth of plug-ins including Lexi-Verb, Virus C soft synth, and many many more. Additionally, there is a separate PC running Tascam Giga Sampler with real orchestra sounds.

The fully air conditioned live room holds a beautiful 7ft Rosewood Steinway grand piano that has been used in many hit productions during its time at The Old Smithy Recording Studio.
